Private Messages

Registered members can send each other private messages via the internal messaging system (if enabled by the administrator).

If you have unread messages, the count will appear in the header. You will also receive a pop-up notification and, if configured, an email notification.

How do I send Private Messages?

Private messages work similarly to email but are limited to registered platform members. You can include BBCodes, smileys and images in private messages.

You can send a private message by clicking the 'PM' button on a user's profile, or by clicking 'New Message' in your settings and manually entering the recipient's username. Every message you send is automatically saved in the outbox.

Private Message Folders

Like an email client, you have 3 folders…

  • The 'Inbox' contains every message you receive, showing the sender's name, subject, date and time sent.
  • The 'Archive' contains only messages you have moved there.
  • The 'Outbox' contains the messages you have sent.

In each folder you can select messages and perform several actions…

  • Archive Selected / Archive All – Moves messages to the Archive folder.
  • Export Selected / Export All – Exports messages as a file (XML, CSV or text).
  • Delete Selected / Delete All – Deletes messages.

We recommend managing your inbox periodically. If it becomes full, you will no longer be able to receive new messages. Your current message count and maximum are shown below.
